The UK Hydrogen Energy Network (H2NET) held its first annual review meeting, Hydrogen : the Fuel for the Future?, at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory on 13 June 2001. The meeting included reviews of the technological and economic status and prospects for hydrogen in the United States, Japan and Europe, and then focussed on likely developments within the UK. Speakers attended from the US and Germany as well as the UK, and the meeting was aimed at opinion-formers and decision-makers within the energy sector as well as academics and industrialists interested in the hydrogen economy.
